Time II/8

Inspiration:

The story behind this painting began at the edge of the ocean. The slow rhythm of the tides, as dictated by the planets, was at once inexorable and soothing and created a stark contrast to our fast-paced modern life and our efforts to save time, to use it efficiently—and rarely to savor it.

“Time II/8” combines two opposing concepts of Time in one painting: Seemingly infinite “Space-Time” and, on the other hand, Time as it passes, with a present, a past, and a future.

“My paintings are visual expressions of personal or collective experiences. Ambiguities and seemingly unfinished elements are there to be relished and to invite the viewer to engage in an equally intuitive process of seeing."
